CURRICULUM

Key Stage 1

Since 2000, our P1 to P3 students have participated in the “Integrate English Language Project” (IELP) from the Hong Kong Council of Early Childhood Education and Services (CESES). Project techniques are based on the integration of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, with the big book shared reading approach. Students are engaged in various types of activities that incorporate phonics, language structure, reading and writing.

Key Stage 2

In 2003, P4 to P6 joined the “Learning to Learn English Language Project” (LLELP), also from CECES. Innovative teaching methods are used in this project, providing the students with opportunities to explore and develop cognitive (thinking) processes while learning English. Students read a wide range of text types, both fiction and non-fiction. These include classic children’s stories, narratives, poems, plays and information reports.
