TARGET VOCABULARY AND SENTENCE STRUCTURES

Refer to Resource Sheets, pages 12.1 and 12.2 for examples of the following:

competition female Australian expert
kilograms mainland owner avoid
believe capture escape provide
weigh weighed Passive voice, e.g. “was captured”
Telling when something happened, e.g. “On the afternoon of 4th April …”
Descriptions that include size and weight, e.g. “It was … metres long/tall and weighed about … kilograms.
Superlatives, e.g. “It was the (biggest/oldest/smartest, etc) ever seen in (Hong Kong, the world, etc).
